Marcel Proust once said “the real voyage of
discovery consists not in seeking new
landscapes but in having new eyes.” My
projects, or makings, are expressions of my
curiosity and appreciation for unexpected
beauty in everyday places. I approach my
work as an exercise in visual literacy—a way
to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. To
transcend familiar contexts while taking
pleasure in details that often fall between the
cracks in our fast-paced, techno-centric world.
You could say that I’m a hunter/gatherer by
nature, an observer of patterns and behaviors.
I’m inspired by art, design, (human) nature,
artifacts, memory, materiality and craft … things that expand our perception while drawing our eye closer.
